VIBC membership
- Sign up for your annual VIBC membership, programs, range pass, and rifle rentals through “Zone 4”.
- The club membership year runs from April 1st to March 31st, with registration opening after April 1st.

VIBC programs
- Registration for VIBC programs can be added as part of the membership registration process.
- All programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The Early Bird rate deadline is November 30th.
o Biathlon Bears: Ages 9 to 14 (8 lessons + 2 club races)
o Competitive Youth: Ages 13 to 18
o Recreational Youth: Ages 13 to 18
o Adult Recreational Program: Ages 15+ (8 lessons + 2 club races)

Rifle Rental
- Club rifles are available for rent for use during your program, if you do not have your own rifle.

Annual Range Pass
- For range use outside of regular VIBC programming times, an Annual Range Pass can be purchased, which is valid from April 1st until March 31st. Certain conditions apply.
- You can review the Range Pass information by clicking here.
- Note: for Bears, Rec Youth, and Masters program participants that will not be using the range outside of lessons/programs, you do not require an Annual Range Pass.
Biathlon Canada membership
- Biathlon Canada membership is required annually for insurance and liability purposes for all participants, parents, and supporters while in the range or hut.

- The Biathlon Canada membership also includes a Biathlon BC membership. The membership year runs from April 1st to March 31st, with registration opening on April 1st.
o For participation in VIBC program, local club races, or other club activities (on or off snow), select the “Recreational Athlete” category
o For competitions at BC cup races, select the appropriate age category (i.e. “Junior Boy, age 13-15” or “Masters Athlete”).
o Anyone racing in the Recreational Categories at BC Cup races can select the “Recreational Athlete” category.
o There are also categories for supporters (parents), volunteers, officials, and coaches
- Note: All parents of Bears and Competitive Youth participants must have a Biathlon Canada membership themselves. Please see program details for more information (click here for Bears info and click here for Competitive Youth info).
Strathcona Nordics Ski Club (SNSC) membership
- Club membership opens on October 1, also through Zone 4. (click here)
- The Early Bird rate deadline is November 30th.
- Registration includes insurance and liability coverage with Cross County Canada.
Strathcona Nordics Ski Club programs
- VIBC encourages all athletes to sign up for ski programs/lessons through SNSC:
o Bunny Rabbit – Active Start Skill Development Program for children, 4-5. (10 weeks.)
o Jack Rabbit – FUNdamentals Skill Development Program for children, 6-9. (10 weeks.)
o Jack Rabbit Plus – twice the fun, for Jackrabbits who would like to ski on Saturday AND Sunday. (10 weeks.)
o Youth Learn to Ski – fun, beginner, recreational program for youth, 10-13 with little to no skiing experience. Saturday or Sunday. (10 weeks.)
o Nordic Adventure Program (SNAP) – fun, recreational program for youth, 10-15 that introduces and expands on a variety of nordic skiing sports, including classic and skate skiing, biathlon, snowshoeing and ski orienteering. Sunday ONLY. Previous skiing experience required. (10 weeks.)
o Masters Recreational – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced – recreational program for adults 18+. (10 weeks.)
o Devo (Track Attack) – Learning to Train program for youth, 9 -12. (Fall and Winter programming)
o Junior Race – Training to Train and Learning to Compete program for youth, 12 -18. (Year round programming)
o Masters Race – Competitive program for adults, 19+. (Year round programming)

Mount Washington Ski pass
- Nordic trail season passes are available through Mount Washington (click here)
- Early bird rates are available before Sept 30th.

If you plan to ski only on Program Days, Mount Washington Alpine Resort provides 6ix Pack trail passes that can only be used on the day of your program – either Saturday or Sunday for the whole day.

Quick Summary:
Participation in biathlon at the Vancouver Island Biathlon Club range, either as a participant, coach, official, or volunteer (including parents of minors) requires membership with both the Vancouver Island Biathlon Club, and Biathlon Canada. It is through Biathlon Canada that the liability insurance is provided – this is mandatory for anyone on the range.
Members receive a 10% discount on their purchases at Mt. Washington Raven Retail store and at Ski Tak Hut in Courtenay.
